About The Tour

Embark on a fascinating 6-day journey through Japan, where you’ll explore some of the country’s most iconic cities and landmarks. Starting in Osaka, you’ll visit the stunning Himeji Castle, known for its grand architecture, and the picturesque Korakuen Garden in Okayama. The tour continues with a visit to the historical city of Kurashiki and the moving Peace Memorial in Hiroshima, commemorating the tragic events of 1945. Experience the tranquil beauty of Itsukushima Shrine on the island of Miyajima before heading to the Shikoku Island for a ferry ride and exploring Matsuyama’s impressive castle and the Dogo Onsen bathhouse. As you travel through the island, you’ll visit the revered Koto-hira Shrine and enjoy the beautiful Ritsurin Garden in Takamatsu. The journey concludes in Kobe, where you’ll pay a visit to the Earthquake Memorial Museum before returning to Osaka. This comprehensive tour offers a deep dive into Japan’s rich history, culture, and natural beauty.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - THU: OSAKA

Welcome to Japan! Transfer to the hotel and free time. You will receive information about the start of the circuit during the afternoon.

Day 2 - FRI: OSAKA - HIMEJI - KORAKUEN GARDEN – OKAYAMA

We leave for HIMEJI, where we will include entry to its immense complex that showcases the architecture of Japanese castles. Lunch included in a local restaurant. We continue to OKAYAMA, where we will visit Korakuen, one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan, with its lakes, waterfalls, and traditional teahouses.Next, we head towards the Shinto shrine of Kibitsu-Jinja, where the God Kibitsuhiko-no-Mikoto is venerated. This shrine is the origin of the legend of Momotaro, the symbol of Okayama Prefecture. The shrine features unique architecture with a corridor 360 meters long.After the visit, free time in the city, an active provincial capital with just over 700,000 inhabitants.

Note: On some dates, we may be accommodated in FUKUYAMA or KURASHIKI. When this happens, the visit to Kibitsu-Jinja Temple will be cancelled. The visit to Kurashiki may take place on the same day in the afternoon.

Day 3 - SAT: OKAYAMA - KURASHIKI - ITSUKUSHIMA – HIROSHIMA

We leave for KURASHIKI, a city with a very well-preserved historical center. Time for a stroll in this charming place with its nostalgic atmosphere. We continue to HIROSHIMA, a city sadly known for the atomic bomb that fell in 1945, leveling the city. We will stroll around the Peace Memorial, the Dome of the Bomb, and visit the impressive Museum of Peace. Afterward, we will embark on a ferry to the island ITSUKUSHIMA, known as “the island where men and gods live together.” We will visit the sanctuary dedicated to the guardian of the seas, built partially over the sea. Time to explore the temple, stroll around its beautiful center, and have lunch. Return to our hotel in Hiroshima. Dinner included.

Day 4 - SUN: HIROSHIMA – MATSUYAMA

Today we will take a ferry to Shikoku Island, on a pleasant two-and-a-half-hour journey through the many islands that make up Japan.In MATSUYAMA, we will take the cable car up to its impressive castle. Afterward, we will visit ISHITEJI, a beautiful Buddhist temple and a significant place of pilgrimage. Lunch included.In the late afternoon, we will visit DOGO ONSEN (admission included), a traditional Japanese bath facility built in the 19th century.

Day 5 - MON: MATSUYAMA - KOTOHIRA - TAKAMATSU - NARUTO – KOBE

We depart for KOTOHIRA, a Shinto shrine dedicated to the God of sailors and a revered place of pilgrimage. The shrine stands on Mount Zosu and is reached by climbing 785 steps. Afterward, in TAKAMATSU, we will visit RITSURIN, one of the prettiest gardens in Japan. Lunch included.In NARUTO, we cross an impressive bridge over the sea, stopping along the way to admire the engineering marvel and walk on its glass floor, with the sea 45 meters below us. Our road takes us through beautiful scenery and long bridges connecting the islands. Arrival in KOBE, accommodation.

Day 6 - TUE: KOBE – OSAKA

In Kobe, we visit the Earthquake Memorial Museum, a place dedicated to remembering the tragic 1995 earthquake and the city’s remarkable reconstruction. We continued to OSAKA, arriving at noon. Note: On some dates, the Earthquake Museum may be changed for the Sake Museum or a climb up Kobe Tower.
