Breakfast. Check out. Fly from Ushuaia airport to El Calafate, a cozy little Patagonian village on the shore of Lake Argentino. El Calafate is the gateway to the Glaciers National Park. Arrive and meet your guide for transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon, live the authentic Patagonian life at the “Estancia 25 de Mayo” Natural Reserve. Visit the old Stone House of the first family who settled down in this rugged land. Continue through the steppe towards “La Seccion,” an authentic ranch house where you’ll see the local animals.
Next stop, see the “guanacos” (wild South American camelids) herds, a deposit of fossilized oysters, dating back 23 million years. This immense desert was once a mighty ocean. Finally, stop at the Centinela Lookout Point at 1500 metres for a breathtaking view of hills that form Argentina and Chile’s border. Return to La Seccion, to enjoy a typically amazing meal. Return to your hotel.
